This unique two person American Roots Music show features authentic old Mississippi Delta Blues songs from the greats like Robert Johnson (b. 1911), Leadbelly (b. 1888), Mississippi John Hurt (b. 1892), Big Bill Broonzy (b. 1893), Muddy Waters (b. 1913), Howlin Wolf (b. 1910), all the way up to Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, and Eric Clapton. It also features Tom & Robert's original Delta Blues inspired songs. This unique and high energy show is played all-acoustically, as were these vintage songs when they were first recorded in the early 1900's. The show also features a short multi-media presentation about these historic blues artists.
The show was created and is performed by long time musicians Tom Nolan and Robert Resnick. Tom, is an accomplished singer, musician, and songwriter who plays multiple instruments during the show, including a cajón (box drum), harmonica, and guitar.
Robert, a long time Blues and Rock & Roll performer, plays multiple acoustic guitars, featuring slide guitar, vintage steel resonator guitars, 12 string guitar, Delta style finger picking, and emotionally charged, string bending blues riffs. Both Tom and Robert have performed live on many prominent stages and studios around the world, and are now pleased to be continuing that journey with the Back Porch Blues show!
